Paul’s parents, Dr. Paul A. and Maria D. Rothfuss, designed our racing colors and submitted them to The Jockey Club for approval in 1938. Granted as Life Colors, the “Red, white, and blue blocks, white cap” have been seen in American racing since that time. Dad and Mom always loved to point out the fact that the colors are “…the same as our American Flag.”

Mrs. Rothfuss left the colors to Paul at her passing in 1972. We’re terribly prejudiced, but we think they are handsome, and we feel fortunate to have them.
We promise to honor both the colors and the memory of our Mom and Dad by conducting the business of All Play Stable in a forthright manner and by working hard to develop the good horses that will make all of us even more proud.
Pictured below is the original card issued to Mrs. Rothfuss when her Life Colors were granted in 1938. It is signed by the legendary Executive Secretary of The Jockey Club, the late Marshall Cassidy.
